Minimally Invasive Surgery

Dr. Audrey Bauer is a board-certified general surgeon who cares for patients with both common and complex surgical conditions, with expertise in hernia, foregut and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Bauer provides care across a broad range of general surgery, including abdominal, incisional and inguinal hernias; gallbladder disease; bowel and colon conditions; heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD); hiatal and paraesophageal hernias; and a variety of skin and soft-tissue conditions.

She also has a particular interest in caring for patients who continue to experience problems following bariatric surgery. Symptoms and conditions such as chronic abdominal pain, persistent heartburn, weight regain, marginal ulcers or internal hernias may require careful evaluation of a patient’s previous operation, current symptoms and individual circumstances. Dr. Bauer is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and provides medical management of weight loss as well.

She completed her General Surgery residency training at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, followed by fellowship training in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.

Dr. Bauer served for 13 years in the United States Navy, including two ship-board deployments in support of Combined Task Force 151. Her military service and extensive surgical training helped shape the disciplined, thoughtful approach she brings to patient care today.
